Summerbridge San Diego, in collaboration with the San Diego Unified School District, the University of California San Diego, (UCSD), and the Univeristy of San Diego (USD), is a tuition-free, rigorous two summer session program serving 150 elementary and middle school students with academic classes and leadership activities. Summerbridge San Diego is hosted at La Jolla High School. Students are taught by dedicated, talented, and highly motivated teachers composed entirely of young adults from colleges and universities nationwide. With support from master teachers, Summerbridge delegates responsibilities for teaching, curriculum development, advising, evaluation and administration to its young staff. This is the strength of our program. Bright and innovative college students open intellectual doors for inquisitive, curious, young elementary and middle school students.
In addition, we also strive to include families in their students' learning, and we continue to support them, academically, through high school. Parents are active in helping with our extra-curricular activities throughout the summer and school year. Fundamentally, Summerbridge aims to change the way we talk and think about education. We are demonstrating that young college students can take charge of their own education while taking responsibility for the education of those eight to ten years younger. There is a trust and bonding that evolves.
Summerbridge San Diego challenges the conventional notion of who can learn and who can teach.

There is no better investment than in the education of our youth. They are our future. A gift from you to Summerbridge San Diego helps us introduce elementary and middle school students to a strong academic program that is designed to raise their sights and encourage them to work hard and love learning. This will build a foundation that will support and pave their way to college. In addition, our program also encourages talented, bright, and dedicated college students who teach and mentor our students to choose teaching as a profession upon their college graduation. And finally, your support helps us encourage parents to become advocates for the education of their child. By working closely with us, we will succeed in helping them go to college and become good citizens of our community.
Please consider a gift to Summerbridge San Diego. You will be richly rewarded by your generosity as well as thanked for your support. For more infomation you can also visit our Summerbridge corporate file at www.bettergiving_sdfoundation.com
